LEAD ROLE | Filipino-American, Jolo is a thoughtful, caring, dedicated, and somewhat anxious college student and dancer. Caught between fulfilling his mom’s expectations of graduating UCLA with top grades and being a steadfast dancer on the competitive team Samahang Modern, Jolo is thrown for a whirl as he begins falling in love with his best friend and dance team director, EJ. As a closeted young man, he struggles with accepting and expressing his queerness, especially as his mom, EJ, and dance practice hell week push him to define himself and what he values.
